Eight hundred years after the composition of the Canticle of Brother Sun or Canticle of Creatures by St. Francis of Assisi – in the Papal Hall of the Sacred Convent in Assisi, reopened for the occasion to the public – the exhibition “Laudato Sie: Nature and Science. The Cultural Legacy of Brother Francis.”
Taking as its starting point the oldest manuscript of the Canticle of Brother Sun or Canticle of Creatures – among the earliest poetic texts in the Italian vernacular that have come down to us – the Exhibition offers visitors an itinerary, accompanied by a continuous multimedia narration, through 93 works from the Ancient Fund of the Assisi Municipal Library kept at the Sacro Convento Library.
