In fact, just a stone’s throw from Assisi in the Mount Subasio Park, there is a fantastic gorge to practice canyoning, called Fosso Marchetto. The gorge is hidden in the hills and has been eroded by a stream that creates a natural landscape of undisputed beauty and total fun thanks to the pools, potholes and rapids that follow one after the other. You’ll enjoy swimming, sliding and diving in a rare, fascinating and isolated environment.
With the correct equipment (swimsuit, towels, complete change of clothing and wet suit) you can descend inside the gorge. The scenery changes radically: even though there are no jumps in the gorge, you will have to cross some deep pools. The sunlight barely filters through and the surroundings become unreal, creating an exciting experience.
