The Hermitage of the Prisons cannot be reached by public transportation.

How can I enter the Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) without getting a fine?

The historic center of Assisi is mostly a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) and is closed to traffic. You cannot enter it in a car if you do not have the appropriate permit.
To avoid fines:

  • you can leave your car in a car park outside the Limited Traffic Zone;
  • • you can leave make arrangements with the hotel or other accommodation facility where you are staying. In many cases the hotel provides a special permit for its customers to allow them to enter and park in the historic center;
  • • if you have a disabled permit, you can freely enter the limited traffic zone and park in designated disabled spaces.
